I am writing a book.

It's actually not my first.

I think I'm in good company when I assume that most writers have started many books, but never finished them. That's my story also. Starting a dozen or more, only to get a few chapters in and have that monster "SELF-ESTEEM," rear it ugly head, and tell me all of it is horrible and I should give up before I embarrass myself. Those beginning attempts were teaching me what I wanted to write. Eventually, however, you realize the learning has to lead somewhere and you just have to put your stories down on paper.

I have plenty of material

I married a cancer survivor. The love of my life. I crushed on him hard before he even knew I existed. Even for several years after I made my presence known. In his own words when he first met me . . . I was too 'squirrel-y.'

I may write that love story for you someday.

I birthed and raised four children. Okay, I guess my husband helped too. The chaos of those years would have filled more than a hundred books if I'd only had the energy to put it all down. Speaking to toddlers, dirt-eating boys, and hormone-saturated teens all day, made mush out of my brain. I don't think anything coherent would have come out of those years. Hence, the dozen or more suspended writing attempts.

My kids are amazing, though. My daughter, the oldest, ruled the roost. My three sons (cue the 60's tune) kept us all busy. Ninja kicks in the wall, Superman launches from the roof, most electronics within striking distance, completely dismantled. . . nothing escaped their exploration. Some things I didn't learn until many years later.

Thank goodness!

They are all married now -- to the love of their lives, and making sure this Nana has many adorable and enchanting grandchildren (the best part of being a parent).

Hobbies, I got 'em by the bucketload!

The photos pretty much sum up my favorite places and things.

These are several things I love doing and in no particular order . . .

Travel

My all time favorite thing to do is cruising

Singing

I was a vocal major and earned awards during school.

I continued to sing the rest of my life in choirs and worship teams

Photography

This became a side business that brought me a lot of joy

Writing

I'm listing as a hobby for this post, but it's now my PASSION!

Camping

Best way to experience the country & a great writing retreat

Then there are the normal ones: Reading, graphic design,

knitting, crocheting, playing piano, acrylic painting,

jewelry making, card making, sewing, and more I can't remember.

I have tried so many things, my family jokes about what I will pick up next.

I am just driven to learn.

My Day Job

Once my children were pretty much grown, I craved a challenge and entered the corporate world. February 2023 marked fifteen years.

I'm always searching for new and more exciting. We'll have to see how all of these experiences and opportunities will make their way onto the pages I write.

It won't be boring, so you may just want to come along on my journey!
